Lost application

I left for Blantyre to collect a bank draft at my bank and submitted it at school for processing. I paid Mwk2000.00 for processing.

Around 6:25pm I applied Actelic, weevils control substance to my 3,50kg of my maize.

Then I left for Electricity Supply Corporation Of Malawi, for the following up of the MV1 distribution quotation of Chinangwa electricity installment project, which Kasinthula Fair Trade Premium Fund is being used.

It was so surprising for our application was not found in their files and I was just advised to prepare another application and submit at nearby ESCOM branch, that’s Nchalo.

Kasinthula Cane Growers

Around 8:45am the phase one and phase two main body committee members left for Lilongwe following the Kasinthula Cane Growers board chairman, Proff. M.B. Mkwapata’s call.

On their journey both committees accompanied Traditional Authority Katunga and Village Headman Chinangwa. They went for training and business discussion about Kasinthula Cane Grower vision.

Blantrye transport again

I left for Blantyre to pay examination registration fee. I only paid, but not given bank draft and I was told by my bank teller, New Building Society, to go again on Wednesday, July 11 2007, to collect bank draft.

I wanted to proceed to Electricity Supply Corporation Of Malawi for the following up of the quotation for the MV1 construction at Chinangwa Village, but I failed because I had no enough money for transport to get to their offices.

I had only for back home.

Kachaso

After church service I went to Gerard Maudzu’s residence, one of the phase two farmers, to ask my money which he borrowed from me.

Unfortunately I found him so drunk after taking local beer (kachaso). He was failing even to speak and woke up.

Mice Salesman

I was supposed to go school, but my lecturer informed me that I couldn’t go for he was not around.
I was just studying at home.

Around 2:35pm someone got me home and he was selling mice. I asked him how he hunted them, but sadly he said he applied poison to food laid for the mice. I didn’t buy and I warned surrounding neighbors not to buy those man’s mice as relish.

And I informed Chinangwa village headman about that man’s exploited mice. The man called Kadzinje was warned by the village headman to be reported to police if he continues that malicious behavior.

Malawi Freedom Day

It was holiday, a 43-year freedom day to Malawi and I went to my maize field to apply bulldock 050 EC, a pesticide for stalk borer prevention and control. I knocked off at around 9:00am.

My prospective wife Bertha called me to visit her. I left at 1:40pm for her home and she warmly welcomed me. She fetched masau fruits for me from trees within their own compound. Bertha told me that she was so shocked when she heard that the vehicle I used on Wednesday, July 4, 2007, hit by a truck.

And she praised Lord after hearing that I was alive together with Peter, the driver.

Bicycle

I went to Nchalo to buy paraffin for lighting because the nearby filling station there was only diesel and petrol.

One of the phase two farmers had his bicycle seized for failing to cover the credit he owed from a moneylender. That was around 4:35pm when I found the two quarrelling.

I tried to settle down the matter, but whatever I tried to explain did not hold water to the moneylender.

Traffic Incident

I went to Blantyre to remind Electricity Supply Corporation Of Malawi to start constructing the phase two of the electrification of Chinangwa village, that’s MV 1 power line. Unfortunately I failed to proceed with the journey because the vehicle I used involved in an accident.

I left with Peter as driver given on Toyota BM 9458, but on the way within Shire Highlands while we were ascending a long truck was descending and met at a certain corner. Peter realized that the truck was so fast and he stopped, but the truck left its lane to Peter’s and the last back tires of the truck hit the right backside of Toyota BM 9458.

Then we got the nearby roadblock traffic officers to assist us. Through officers communication the truck driver was captured at Thabwa roadblock because he didn’t stop though he knew that he hit the other vehicle. And the truck driver was taken to court at 2:00pm. We failed to get to Electricity Supply Corporation Of Malawi because Peter decided to let the management know about the incident.

Very Cold Morning

It was very cold morning, my young sisters feared to go to school and I had to rush them for their studies before I left for the work. My mother asked me if I had to take porridge or tea and I preferred tea for it was cold and raining. 2007.

On the way to my work I met two cane guards for Kasinthula Cane Growers, had three thieves who had bundles of fresh canes stolen from phase 2 fields. Those men were to the KCGL’s offices.

The Kasinthula Premium committee was making a plan and budget for Fair Trade Premium Fund especially on electrification project of Chinangwa village. Till late afternoon, was still showering and the whole day no sunshine as we expect Lower Shire to experience kind of weather.

Showering and Cold

It was cloudy, and around 8:00 am started showering and so cold.
I felt pain because I had no windbreaker, I even failed to go home for lunch and I bought chips from a nearby trading center as lunch for of going out of the office.

Late afternoon before supper my sister Joyce was preparing some potatoes for the family. She shared the potato to the members of the family, and I kept mine. I kept mine and ate it after my studies at 9:20evening.

And it was showering throughout the night.
