Traditional Authority Katunga conducted a meeting with Kasinthula main body committees. The chief wanted to strengthen the unity amongst the members as well as general farmers. The meeting started at 8:00am, till 12:30pm. The chief in collaboration with different village headmen advised both committees to encourage farmers to work hard on their cane plots, so that the yield for 2008 should be bumper one. The chief expressed his concern on how phase one chairperson is leading farmers and ordered him to step down with effect from August, 09,2007. He was ordered to step down because he has been misleading farmers by pledging them of getting large amount of money without considering the huge loan the company has, as operational cost, overdrafts haulage and other costs like milling and processing. The chief said that he wanted people and the community surrounding Kasinthula Cane Growers to have access to the job opportunities and benefit from cane sugar production. Lastly he advised the other members to hold a meeting and democratically elect a new understanding chairperson for phase one.
Before knocking off I called my fellow college mate Judith Chisale if Saturday, August, 11,2007 she was going to attend classes. And she responded that she would attend. She told me that she was in Lilongwe conducting a meeting at her work. My brother chased a bird that had been making naughty noise around on a tree behind his house. He said that that bird had been around his house and was suspicious of being magicians. Her wife commented that she had been dreaming unfortunate things and she believed that bird could be responsible. My brother also said that was going to approach African doctor for better clarification of that bird. A friend to brother said that there is some witchcraft that is forecasting misfortune.
