Late afternoon I received a quotation from Electricity Supply Corporation Of Malawi. I was so happy because it has taken a long time without response from the organization. I went to bed late for I was studying.

I did not go to work because I asked to have 5 days off for I was dealing with my studies. After breakfast I went to Chikwawa National Initiative for Civic Education. After studying around 10:00am, I went to Chikwawa magistrate court where I found a certain African doctor who was expressing his concern before magistrate. An African doctor said that a businessman who was blind, but believed to be healed by that doctor was failing to pay for the healing. The businessman denied the accusation. But a lot of people believed that it might be true that the doctor healed the businessman, because he had been failing to see for almost three years.
My wife prepared nice local bread that was ripen banana mixed with white maize flour and pounded together, then bake it. After breakfast she asked me to assist her to fetch firewood at a 15-kilometer distance away from home. I hired an oxcart for transportation. Fortunately we fetched a full oxcart. At 2:00pm, I left for Dyeratu to watch football match between Mitole FC and Chiradzulu FC, and ended 3-1 in favor of the host Mitole.
Late afternoon my friend got me and complained that his two chickens were just stolen. He told me that he just heard a neighbor’s dog barking and a sound of disturbed chickens around his compound. He woke up and checked if his chickens were all available and unfortunately he found out that 3 chickens were stolen.
I had potatoes as breakfast, and then I left for Blantyre for my studies. It was a nice day because we had a new lecturer who guided us on how to deal with a research, data collection and data analyzing. We were also taken to have computer introduction (excel). We knocked off at around 1:30pm, and I left for CI deport to wait for minibuses for home. I boarded at 2:40pm, for Chikwawa. I was so hungry because I had only for transport, which was Mk500.00, to and fro.
I arrived home at 4:25pm, and proceeded to watch football match that was between Chinangwa Football Club and Lisuli Football Club. It ended in favor of Chinangwa by 2-1.
I went to school and arrived at 8:12am in Blantyre. We started classes at 9:00am. Our lecturer gave us assignment on Social and Community Welfare.
When I was leaving for the work my wife asked me to her fresh mangoes, but I failed because mangoes were not yet at market when I was going home for lunch. Upon arriving home the first question was where her mangoes were. I promised to buy her when knocking off around 5:00pm. I forced myself to buy for her because she was not happy when I went home for lunch without those fresh mangoes.
When I went back to the office I used one of the computers whose owner went to the bank with phase two chairperson to update balances for phase two farmers burial fund account.
I enjoyed my dinner because my wife Bertha and I had fresh fish (chambo) as relish. I bought that fish at Mk200.00 per one kilogram, tomatoes costing Mk50.00 and onions at Mk20.00. And I bought sweet potato that cost Mk100.00 for breakfast.
I received a letter from abroad, UK sent by Fiona Thomson of Traidcraft one of the Kasinthula’s biggest customers on Fairtrade deal in terms of cane sugar. She and Richard, industrious photographer were wishing me good luck on my new life following my marriage with Bertha on July, 28,2007. When I got home Bertha was so happy for receiving best wishes from UK. “It is something very special my dear having best wishes from Fiona of UK”. Bertha told me while smiling.
Traditional Authority Katunga conducted a meeting with Kasinthula main body committees. The chief wanted to strengthen the unity amongst the members as well as general farmers. The meeting started at 8:00am, till 12:30pm. The chief in collaboration with different village headmen advised both committees to encourage farmers to work hard on their cane plots, so that the yield for 2008 should be bumper one. The chief expressed his concern on how phase one chairperson is leading farmers and ordered him to step down with effect from August, 09,2007. He was ordered to step down because he has been misleading farmers by pledging them of getting large amount of money without considering the huge loan the company has, as operational cost, overdrafts haulage and other costs like milling and processing. The chief said that he wanted people and the community surrounding Kasinthula Cane Growers to have access to the job opportunities and benefit from cane sugar production. Lastly he advised the other members to hold a meeting and democratically elect a new understanding chairperson for phase one.
Before knocking off I called my fellow college mate Judith Chisale if Saturday, August, 11,2007 she was going to attend classes. And she responded that she would attend. She told me that she was in Lilongwe conducting a meeting at her work. My brother chased a bird that had been making naughty noise around on a tree behind his house. He said that that bird had been around his house and was suspicious of being magicians. Her wife commented that she had been dreaming unfortunate things and she believed that bird could be responsible. My brother also said that was going to approach African doctor for better clarification of that bird. A friend to brother said that there is some witchcraft that is forecasting misfortune.
Early morning came a woman from a far distant village, but seemed to be stranded. The woman had a child that was so weak. Some Chinangwa basing women asked her where she was from and to. “I am going to my husband’s home”. The woman answered. She mentioned a name of the husband and women with her were surprised because they separated 7years ago. And she had no child when divorced. The man did not marry since divorced her and people were just waiting to see the response of the man because he at the work.
Late afternoon my neighbor’s wife was called by her two brothers-in-law and held discussion. The husband to wife went to South Africa to seek job. But unfortunately the woman is not faithful because a certain married woman approached the brother inlaw to the woman. The complaining woman said that she was suspecting the sister inlaw of the man of being in love affair with her husband. She confirmed that there was evidence that she could produce. The issue is waiting for the husband from South Africa.
When I was going to my work I found one of the phase two farmers’ wife, was discussing with her brother-in-law about her husband that he was given money worthy to buy a cow. Unfortunately the man misused the money by spending on beer for three days at Dyeratu trading center. The man had been wanted by her mother to explain on how the money was used. The man has been spending days in closed door in fear of meeting his very old mother. His mother threatened to refer the issue to the village headman if he still failing to explain where the cow was.
It started showering early morning around 3:00am. At lunchtime I didn’t go home, I just went to a nearest trading center to have one bottle of coca cola and chips. Even though my bicycle was in a condition that I could go home, but I wanted to use the computer whilst the owner was at home for lunch. When the owner of the computer came found me already completed my work.
At Dyeratu trading center there was a certain organization that was conducting AIDS awareness to the people who were at the trading center for marketing. The function started at around 2:00pm and ended late afternoon. A lot of people participated, because there was different traditional dances, comedies and dramas.
