The Kasinthula general manager informed me as a Fairtrade Premium Fund Committee secretary that Philip Sibaud was already in Malawi and the driver was already directed where to pick him to Chikwawa, Kasinthula. I met him at around 2:20pm after his arrival. Philip gave me Ubuntu cola a drink just introduced using Kasinthula sugar as one of the ingredients that is bought through Fairtrade deal and giving access farmers and surrounding communities implementing sustainable socioeconomic development projects through premium. Philip said the drink has already been sold on the various markets.
I tested the drink and was so nice and admired if it could be sold in Malawi’s markets. A number of people were asking me where I bought Ubuntu when I was testing it at Dyeratu Trading Center. They admired the can’s appearance and I confirmed them that was so nice, unfortunately I had only one.
