When I was studying at home I experienced cloud cover and became too hot. A couple of time there was threatening frightening and thunders showing rainy season. Most of the times when Shire Valley, (Chikwawa and Nsanje) districts is about to receive rain the weather becomes so hot.
At around 5:13pm it started raining with thunders and frightening. Nobody could even walk because there was also a heavy wind blowing from Southern part of Malawi. When it started raining my wife complained where to cook because the kitchen was not yet roofed. The rain was not enough for crop planting on the areas of subsistence farming.
Around 3:39am while a lot of people were asleep in their respective houses earthquake shocked lots of lives. It was like a strange bomb and everybody even the elderly ones also said it never happened. When I got outside the house I heard lots of people talking of it. One of the best friends told me that his wife was trying to escape, but nowhere to go whilst inside the house. This earthquake begun from South- West district of Malawi, Mwanza. I woke up at around 4:30am, preparing to start working under irrigation department. My field manager welcomed me and I was given back the fields which I was incharge.
When I got to my work I excused my general manager to go back to the fields to do irrigation. My boss advised me to keep on working but due to some circumstances I decided to concentrate on irrigation side. The other factor was that I had no access to have my own computer to use. “I only use a computer when the owner is not around and when the owner is at home for lunch”. Then the general manager admitted me to go back to field and when needed, I shall be called.

Had it been that the battery was active I just use somebody’s phone and calling it. Even if one had come across and picked it there was still a problem of pin code. At home my wife was so worried because I told him that I have no money to buy a cell phone whilst it is rainy season I need to hire other people to assist us doing some activities. My wife didn’t take lunch because she had a promise with her friend to come home but they were relying on phone communication.
My wife notified me that my young sister was pregnant, but I didn’t believe because is doing her primary school and age not eligible to marry. I went to my parents’ residence to find out from my mother, but she confirmed me. I was so worried because only one of my 4 sisters is educated but the rest were just married earlier. I condemned my elder sister for letting the young sister moving anyhow and having secret lovers whilst her knowledge. I only advised her that she has to understand that her educational status has been jeopardized and would not contribute any sustainable human development to community as well as at household.
While I was at home some under ten boys were playing football near my house. All boys are basing in Chinangwa village. One team was from the upper side and the other from the central part of the village. The host was the central team and won by three goals to nil. I was so pleased because I didn’t waist time going somewhere to watch football match.

I proceeded to visit my parents in law that’s at around 4:35pm. When I was coming back to my home Chinangwa village I met a man again while too drunk even failing to recognize me that we had once met at a certain shop.
