I passed level 1

After breakfast, I left for Nchalo, St Montfort hospital for blood level testing. I was tested and then preceded to my local bank. At the bank, some of the people especially old ones who do not know how to read and write asked me to write their withdrawing forms on their behalves. After drawing my money, I left for Blantyre at my school to see examination results.

Passed diploma 1 in community development. I was arriving Blantyre at around 2:25pm. I was not intended to do any shopping for I was after witnessing myself about exams results. I entered into the secretary’s office, who firstly mocked me that I was omitted on the passing roll. I was not sure of that. “I am just joking you have passed,” she said. I was so proud of passing the diploma, which was one of my aspiration and I am going to work extra hard for diploma 2.

A girl looked for her sister

It was cloudy as if was about to rain. I started sweeping the surrounding. I was finishing at 6:45 am. I switched on my radio just listening gospel tunes. I sat on my simply made chair. My wife called me that there was a visitor outside who was looking for her sister. I got off to meet her. “I have come early morning looking for my sister who told me that with her husband are now living here within Chinangwa village. My in law’s name is Ndapasowa and I have been trying to find them but they are not found. If you know Ndapasowa please guide me where he is residing. I am so tired.” The girl complained. My wife told her that she may go further at the end of the village where she was assure that there was a man a that has come into the village some days ago.
The girl came again at my home saying that her sister and husband were not found. The confirmed that her brother in-law emphasized that they were leaving for Chinangwa to live permanently.

In the afternoon, she came for the third time when it was sunset. I called my sister to take her to my mother’s house to take food and sleep their. She went with my sister where she took supper, bathing and sleep.

Called to do Fairtrade premium duties

Even though I am on leave, I was called to do some of the Fairtrade premium issues. I am not a Fairtrade premium member, but I was called to update premium income and compiling invoices that is flow of goods. I was encouraged by committee members that I should be committed each and every time when called for premium discussions.

Wages’ day. Many labourers were so happy because it was the payment day. After being paid some of them were buying relish and some other home needs like salt, sugar and as well paying back what they owed from their friends.

I was going back home at around 2:25pm. Soon after arrival, I proceeded to watch football match between Chinangwa FC and Jakobo FC. It was so crucial because they played the whole 90 minutes without any score in either side. Chinangwa FC used most of the young stars that did not even played under that crucial match.

Watching under-14 game

It was sunny and patches of clouds. I worked at my garden and knock off at around 10am. When I got home, I prepared breakfast while my wife was drawing water from the borehole. She congratulated me for the way breakfast was prepared.

At 2pm, I was just watching under 14 matches between Chinangwa and Kapasule and the match ended 3-1 in favour of Chinangwa under 14. it was so nice to see young men to be committed to play football.

Mother forced her daughter to marry

My neighbor’s daughter was happy to stop going to school for she was encouraged by her mother to marry a certain man within Chinangwa village. The mother to this young woman encouraged and forced her daughter to marry but the father to this girl disagreed with what his wife wanted.

I was so tired when I got home from the garden. I just switched on my radio and listening some slow numbers.

I took pumpkins from my mother

After knocking off from the garden, I went through my parents’ house where I was given already boiled pumpkins. It was so nice for my first time this 2008 to take pumpkins. My mother gave me some for my wife to prepare for the other day’s breakfast.

Listening reggae jamming. When I got home, I was just listening to radio especially reggae jamming programme. It was so nice because several artists who play reggae carried me away. The only problem was that my radio is very small that was not producing good sound. It was one-hour programme from 3pm to 4pm

I underwent x-ray

Following painful and swelling of the scrotal part of the left side I went to St Montfort hospital for x-ray. The first doctor to meet referred me to surgical team where I was again x-rayed. I was advised at the surgical team that I was supposed to undergo surgical process. I was given an opportunity to choose the surgical day. I chose 2nd April 2008 as a best day for the process to be done. I was also referred to laboratory for blood level testing. I paid all the money I had as for transport because it is private hospital.

For I had no money I went to a certain woman who lent me Mk300 for transport when going back home. I left Nchalo for home at 12:46 and arrived home at 2pm. When I got home, I found my wife preparing food.

A farmer sued Chinangwa village headman. A woman who is one of the cane farmers sued to Traditional Authority that he encouraged her ex-husband to take the issue to the Chikwawa magistrate court. The ex-husband to this woman complained to the court that his former wife is just enjoying the cane proceeds while when operation at the first was done he was only the one who worked under exhaustion condition. The woman divorced the marriage and seized the plot ownership after being directed by the Tradition Authority. The case had been run at Chikwawa magistrate and before judgment, the woman thought that Chinangwa village headman was the one enforced the former husband to sue because the son to the village headman married the daughter to the ex-husband of the woman from man’s first wife.

My brother’s cattle destroying maize

When I was at my garden, my brother’s son came when he was looking for his father to report about the cattle’s case of destroying someone’s maize. I showed him where his father was.

After knocking off, I was at home shelling maize. I managed to shell 20 kg. After shelling maize, I asked my wife to prepare food for I was hungry. “Know that today we have no relish because the money I had have finished. Would you please try to borrow some moneys to buy sugar or potato for breakfast though it is already before lunchtime,” my wife said. I went to a certain grocery where I borrowed 1 kg of sugar and bread, which we used to have breakfast.

Tried to cut my hair

Alfred and I went to Dyeratu in order to have our hairs cut. Unfortunately, it failed because there was electricity problem. We decided to go back home but Alfred told me that we could take bananas. He bought bananas which we enjoyed as lunch as well.

In the afternoon, we left for Nedi village to watch football match between William FC and Power Dynamos. It was crucial game. William was not ready and serious because its coach substituted one player by a drunkard one who even failed to touch the ball up to the end of the match. The match ended five- nil in favor of the Power Dynamos. Chinangwa Netball Club was playing against Nedi Netball Club. The match ended 35 goals to 13 in favour of Chinangwa sister club. After watching that match, we too left for Dyeratu with an aim of cutting our hairs. When we arrived, we also failed for the very same electricity problem. We went back home and arrived at around 6:34 evening.

In the garden

Before taking breakfast my wife and I went to work at the garden. We worked up to 10 am. The weather was so nice, because it was full of cloud cover. Before knocking off it started showering. Many people wanted rainfall for the cotton crops need moisture for they are now well matured and some have started harvesting.

Watching football match. After taking lunch, Alfred and I went to Chikalumpha village to watch football match between Chinangwa FC and Chikalumpha FC. It was so amazing for Chikalumpha was leading by three goals to one. 25 minutes before match ended, Chinangwa equalized through its youngest player Charles who scored all three goals. Within added time Gama, the Chinangwa defender scored through a free kick from almost 25 meters made Chinangwa leading by four goals to three.

Two children lay at the hospital on one bed. It was so amazing when a son of a certain man who suffered and was taken to hospital was laid on one bed with a son of the woman who fell in love secretly with the man whose son was the one. Anonymously women (mothers) of those children did not know each other. When the husband went to cheer his son, he wondered when he saw that his secret lover’s young daughter was the one laid together with his son. Then it was revealed that the woman who was caring her daughter on the same bed was in love with her husband.
