I knew nothing; I woke up and left for the work. I just heard that Dzowa’s three bicycles were stolen inside his own house. I was told that during the night some thieves broke Dzowa’s house while the whole family was asleep. “Have you heard that three bicycles have been stolen this last night?” Robert asked me. “I don’t know” I responded. It was so sad because he had just bought those 3 bicycles to assist his family in various ways, but someone just come and take as if he or she sweated for.
Cotton sales. Cotton is one of the major commercial trading especially in Shire valley. Prices for this crop had been worrisome for so many years. Most of the farmers stopped growing cotton. Early this year government announced the substantial prices for cotton purchase by the local buyers. My friend Alfred managed to sell over 2000 kg at Mk65 per kg. He was so happy because he was not expecting to have that yield.
