I woke up and worn my sport shoe. I got out of the house and started cleaning the home compound. My wife brought me toothbrush and toothpaste, which I used to clean my teeth before taking breakfast. “Sugar and tea available, but no milk. If you can ask fresh milk at mum, please go before I prepare” my wife asked me. When I got my mother, she gave me one liter of fresh cow milk. “I have taken the milk, can you please make it so fast, because I am hungry. I don’t know if you are too” I plead to my wife. Just a couple of time, she finished preparing breakfast, which I enjoyed.
My wife bought me two well-matured sugarcanes. “A full farm cart with canes was passing and I have just decided to buy for you” she told me. “Thank you so much for the canes” I congratulated her.
My sister prepared thobwa. Thobwa is a light porridge only prepared to relief the level of hungry when working. It is prepared by using white maize flour but impounded (mgaiwa) and add sugar. At my mum’s house, the sister was preparing it as a harvesting rice work preparation on the following day. Those who went to work enjoyed it and the burden of the work was relieved.

It was bright sunshine than past day. With boiled potatoes I enjoyed the breakfast. The vehicle came to lift Robert and to Nchalo for the last day of the third session on Quality Management System workshop. We all enjoyed the last day of the session with several assignments to do as a preparation for the fourth session scheduled to meet late July.
When I got home I proceeded to see the progress at my garden. It was a month without updating the re-ridging progress at my garden, which I am expecting to plant winter maize. When I reached the garden I appreciated that the one who won the contract smoothly did the work.

There was a rumor that a certain married woman had a secret lover. Some people one day tipped the husband. On this day she paid an excuse to her husband that she was going to fetch firewood in the near bush. Through the rumor and tipping of people the husband followed her anonymously. The woman met her secret lover according to their agreement. When they were meeting, her husband was hiding and witnessing whatever was happening. They both took off their clothes. The woman’s husband moved towards where they hid. The baby was laid alongside them. When they were found, the woman rushed leaving the man caught by her husband. When the woman was escaping, she left the baby on the spot. The baby was just crying while the husband and the other man were fighting. After fighting (the thief rush), the man took his baby back home from the bush. It was so sad. I went with my friend to hear the settling of the matter at the village headman. The cried for unfaithful woman and the spread of sexually transmitted diseases as well Aids pandemic. It was so shameful because many people gathered at the village headman. Children were singing teasing and mocking songs for unfaithful woman.
My friend’s baby admitted at the hospital. My wife went to Chikwawa district hospital to cheer Alfred’s wife whose baby was diagnosed pneumonia. My wife prepared some food for her. “How is the baby, is there any progress?” I asked my wife. She told me that there was quite changes and confirmed that the baby would get well soon. After taking supper, I went to meet Alfred at his house. We chatted up to 9pm before gong to bed.

At around 6:30 the vehicle took Robert and I at Chinangwa village where we live for Nchalo (Illovo) training center to attend Quality Management System on Fairtrade and management issues. It was the third session of the workshop. I was chosen to present the risky analysis on how to advertise the Fairtrade quotations. After presentation the members in the house had a conversation. Then Wilfred presented the risky analysis on issuing goods from stores. At around 9am, we had teatime. The session continued by several presentations from Fairtrade Quality Management System and Kasinthula management Quality Management System Committees. We had lunch at the sports club, which we all enjoyed for the confections and condiments we took.
Found man beaten to blood. The woman, who was living together with her husband at Dwangwa over 150 kilometers from Chikwawa where I live, was chased by her husband. The woman lives in Chikwawa district. Her husband came from Dwangwa where there is another big sugar estate for Illovo, to see his wife and settle down the disputes aroused. When the husband arrived, the wife was with another man inside the house. He knocked, but wife did no respond until the man broke the door and found both of them naked. The owner of the wife started beating the secret lover to the woman. The latter’s shirt was stained with blood and he was almost fainting. Some nehibouring men rescued him. “I chased her from Dwangwa because she was bringing some tensions amongst the women for she fond lies. Today I have come to take her back home, but she is not faithful. I am now back she can marry another man” the husband said. It happened soon after knocking off from the workshop I attended late in the afternoon.

At lunch hour, I did not go home for lunch. Robert who took me to work on his motorcycle was still at a meeting when it was lunch hour that we could go home. I was hungry but some members who were attending the EU meeting with Keit brought me some biscuits, which I took as lunch.
Had mice with nsima. When I got home, my wife told me that she bought mice of which she took with nsima at lunch. “You are going to enjoy the way I have prepared them” she told. Late in the afternoon, I the mice with nsima but I really enjoyed. “If you see some selling tomorrow don’t fail” I told her. Mice are locally found especially soon after harvesting (April to June) in the remote areas where people do their subsistence farming. Many people in the southern part (Shire valley) like mice with white maize or sorghum flour nsima. For my sake it was good weekend to take mice as relish.

The Fairtrade premium committee in collaboration with the main body committees conferred several issues. On the meeting, I reported about the progress on fair-trade premium budget for the year 2008. I also advised the committee to supervise the projects, which are not fully completed. The phase two chairperson reported that six cane fields had already harvested and the yield is so bumper. The main body committees arranged refreshments for the meeting participants.
A man chased from the village. Child abuse occurs in different ways. Children are anonymously taught witchcraft practices. There was a rumor that some children were revealing that they had been taken by a certain man during nights to be practiced how to fly and eat human fresh magically. Through that rumor, the man decided to sue at the village headman. All children and their parents were called. Children revealed whatever they do during nights. One of them said that they cut other children’s heads, play as a sport football, and later replace it back to the owner. The man denied. They also said that one of the man’s children also involved in the witchcraft practicing. The village headman ordered two men to take the man’s child. His own child admitted that his father do train them how fly and eat human fresh. After his own son’s revelation, the man had nothing to say. The village headman ordered the man to leave the village for any other village for found abusing children during nights doing malpractice.

A head teacher was found guilty for he was red handed having playing sexual with a young pupil. It was 3pm, when some pupils were looking for their fellow pupil who paid an excuse to them that their head teacher wanted her at his house. They went to the teacher’s house to ask their friend. Sadly, they found the teacher playing sex with their friend. The young girls called another teacher to witness what was going on. When the other teacher got to the house, he found the young victim crying. “Why is the girl crying?” he asked the head teacher. “I don’t know, but she was preparing food for me” the head teacher answered while trembling. “I have suspected you of immorality with this young girl and I am going to refer this matter to the police” the fellow teacher said while angry. The school committee resolved to chase the head teacher from the school though the issue was at police. It was so sad for a well-matured person to have a young girl as a wife, who is expected to be advised by him about the impact of having unplanned sex while young. HIV, Aids pandemic is also one issue.
Report on Fairtrade workshop. Fair-trade premium committee secretary Aubrey reported what they discussed at their workshop, which was held in Lilongwe. He reported that several issues were discussed and many of them were quite clear.
Kasinthula clinic extension. Kasinthula clinic was earlier proposed to be extended through premium funds to assist the surrounding community not to walk a long distance of over 5 to 6 km to Chikwawa district hospital. The project has just started and bricks had already transported to the clinic. Many people are welcoming the project for it shall assist them. The Fairtrade premium committee drafted the budget of the whole project.
