It was inspection day. I was at home just resting. I received the call for that inspection. The fair-trade premium committee chairperson sent a vehicle to take me at home, though I was sick to answer about the Fairtrade audit. All committee members met the auditor for more discussions about premium. The inspector advised the members to meet the other day for documentation.

Early around 3am, I was not feeling better. “Can I call a company’s vehicle to lift you to hospital? I understand you are not feeling good. I can see that today is too much,” my wife said. She called my young brother, sixth born to communicate the driver responsible to lift me to the hospital. The vehicle came at around 4am and lifted me to hospital. When we got to the hospital, the doctor gave me painkillers. She advised my wife to wait for working hours to meet the doctor responsible. When the doctor came at 7:30am, I was given some drugs and let me going home. The fair-trade premium committee chairperson came home to cheer me. My father inlaw also came.
Witchcraft collapsed. When I was waiting for the doctor, I saw the police vehicle at the hospital where many people gathered surrounding that vehicle. My wife went there to witness what was happening. “It is witchcraft has accidentally collapsed from the magic plane,” my wife told me. I saw that woman witchcraft when she was taken of from the vehicle. It was noted that he fell from the plane at William village near a certain man’s house. Some people at the hospital recognized her that she was basing at Mwalija village about 10km far from where she collapsed. She passed away at around 11am.
As I was not feeling ok that last day, I was still feeling pain especially the chest side. My wife bought me some painkillers. After taking those painkillers, I felt better. My wife advised me to go to Chikwawa hospital if there would be no change.
Employees and farmers are always taught the Fairtrade issues. Fair-trade awareness is an ongoing issue. Farmers and employees should understand fully the fair-trade standards and requirements. Employees were asked to come to the office for the awareness. I was the one responsible to conduct that training. All of them understood fully the topic discussed. When I was teaching, I felt fever as if was malaria. “Though I am teaching but am not feeling good” I told those participants. One of them commented that he recognized my voice was not normal, as he knew me. We knocked off at 12noon. After that training, I paid an excuse to leave for home.
I was asked to compile sugar sold on Fairtrade deal. It was noted that Twin Trading wanted the total sugar sold from Kasinthula. I reconciled and referred it to the general manager. The general manager advised me to keep the information updated every time.
When I was at the office working, some cane guards brought four men at the office with canes they stole. Two of them were employees and others were just friends of them. Salaries were deducted to cover the stolen canes. Employees also told that were responsible to guide the other two to steal canes. They also suffered the covering of their friends’ canes. They were suspended for two days for lesson.
I had roasted groundnuts as breakfast. I told my wife that there no problem for me taking groundnuts as breakfast. It was nice breakfast. Kasinthula employees, especially labours had been asking about the access to revolving fund that can promote their living standard. The company introduced the fund. Many employees gathered to have that loan.
Due to relish problem experienced, my wife went to Blantyre to buy relish for the month. She left at 7am while I was to left for work. She was coming back home at around 4pm. Patrick took me on his bicycle when I knocked off. My bicycle was no in good condition.
A cane farmer who was n the way going home (Chinangwa) village was his bicycle and money robbed. The farmer got K30, 000.00 from Revolving fund. He bought the brand new bicycle. The left money and that bicycle were robbed and was bulled almost to faint. Some people found him along that road laying and was taken to Chikwawa hospital.
I was at Fombe village to escort my friend who visited me home. While at Fombe, I met a certain friend who sometime used to come home. He took me to his house. At around 10am, I paid an excuse to leave for home. “Please do not go, I have already rationed for you” the friend’s wife told me. Mayo! Mayo!, we heard a strange loud crying voice of a girl. When we got out of the house, we saw some people had a certain man arrested. One them said that the arrested one was raping that young girl. He was referred to police.
