Assistant referee bulled
Mitole FC ground is situated along the Blantyre Chikwawa road just 300m from Kamuzu Bridge from Blantyre. When I was in the minibus after crossing the bridge I saw people gathering at the ground. I asked the driver to drop me. Mitole was playing against Nchalo United. Nchalo United was leading by a goal to nil. Being the home ground, Mitole supporters were angry. The referee responsible declared free kick to be taken by Nchalo United following an assistant referee demand. It was a dangerous area that Nchalo could score, that made Mitole supporters disagree with that free kick. Most of the supporters rushed where the lines man was and bulled him. The match was about to end about 20 minutes remained on the second half. The match continued after referees team and Mitole officials’ negotiations. About 3 minutes to end the match, one of the Mitole defender was dribbled that made an opportunity for Nchalo U almost scoring. Mitole defender just dived at the ball as a goal keeper. The referee responsible ruled hand ball and penalty to Nchalo and scored. The match ended 2-nil in favour of Nchalo United.
