“Let me go with Ndaona to Chikwawa hospital, the body temperature is still high this might be malaria. She has to be tested for it” my wife Bertha told me. I gave her Mk200.00 for hiring a cyclist to deliver her and daughter to hospital to meet the doctor. It was early morning around 4:20am, when she told. “Ndaona has been tested malaria positive” she called me at 10am. She continued saying that she was going home not admitted there. She was getting better in the afternoon.

I had with me my daughter Ndaona whose mother was busy drawing water from the borehole. Mlaitcha my friend bought me a bottle of fanta. I just give it to my daughter who seemed not to prefer it as usual. “Ndaona you like fanta, what’s wrong with you?” I asked my daughter who is 4 years old. She did not reply. I noticed that something was wrong with her health. A couple of minutes she started complaining. “Dad, I want to sleep” she told me. It was around 9am that made me of noticed that my daughter had fever. The body temperature rose. I bought pain killers to relief that high body temperature.
7 months old aborted
Most of the bargirls are not interested to have children for they understand the challenge of bringing up children. It noted that she told her friends that she could experience poverty if she would have that expected baby than living alone for she could still enjoy with well to do men for daily accessibility to her basic needs.

I woke in the morning and realized that it was my school day in Blantyre. I entered the pit latrine where I heard the insulting voice from the neighbor’s compound. It was very sympathetic. Many old people are always discriminated due to ufiti (witchcraft) suspicion. The witchcraft training among youths is commonly the regular cases in Malawi. Many children are complaining of being trained how to fly during odd hours magically and eat human flesh.
Late comers warned
I arrived the school campus at 7 am. There was only two classmates already arrived earlier. The lecture came and advised us to have lessons soon after some students’ arrival. The school principle directed the class lecture to start working with us three and late comers meeting him before getting in. All late comers were cautioned to be sent back home if they would come late the other following weekend. We knocked off at 2pm. I left for the deport to board minibus to CI deport to have Blantyre Chikwawa road minibus. I boarded at 3:12pm. In the minibus there were many women than men.
As we entered the New Year 2009 the Kasinthula Fairtrade Premium Committee has to design a workplan and budget for the 2009 premium use. The Kasinthula management and Fairtrade premium committee hand in hand asked me being an advisor to Premium committee to design a 2009 workplan. I started working on it since I was asked to attend office premises for computer accessibility. I started planned it and looking forward for the farmers recommendations on this proposed 2009 premium funded projects.
Colision
At lunch hour, I left for Matechanga Motel to have lunch. At lunch I hired a cyclist to lift me to the office. At 5 pm, after knock off I boarded the accountant’s vehicle that dropped me at Dyeratu trading center. The weather changed. The sky was covered with thick clouds. A couple of minutes, it started showering. Many cyclists whom I could hire were not admitting to lift me home for they feared the expected rain. The sun set and dark fell. At around 6pm, came a cyclist who knew me and promised to take me after buying his relish. We left for Chinangwa village. 2km away from Dyeratu, it was unfortunate that the bicycle I boarded collided with another bicycle. The cyclist who took me worried about his front tire for it broke beyond repair. We had to foot up to home. “Had it been that is from home he would buy a new bicycle for me because he left his lane and crush me while in my lane” He expressed the cyclist while lifting the bicycle up to home.
It was good morning with cloud cover. I only felt fever as if malaria was attempting to be caught. The past day I planned to work so hard at my garden for it was holiday. John Chilembwe is the most respected person in Malawi who died for Malawians in federal rule. He was a pastor and educated one. He realized that the whites of that time were enslaving the Malawians in various areas. He struggled with these leaders and was killed in battle. Since then John Chilembwe is highly respected and 15th January was declared to be holiday to commemorate him.
The cane farmers always have their meetings in quarterly. In this meeting the committee members who called for that meeting explained much of the potential issues to be followed general farmers.

At lunch time, while taking lunch at my house, I saw three police officers arrived at my neighbor’s house. Those officers boarded the hired bicycles. While I was able to see clearly what was taking place at that house, I saw a thief on handicapped brought with those officers. The house owner and officers entered the house. Many people gathered to witness what was taking place. It was later noted that the thief who was already in handicapped revealed that he sold the very executive bed to the house owner which I never seen in my life. The buyer of that stolen bed was too arrested and taken to the station.
In the morning, there were tick clouds and everybody expected the heavy rainfall, but failed. I failed to prepare for the work for I understood that it would be very tough to foot due to that expected rainfall. Those thick clouds failed to make the earth having rainfall and it was late at 8am. I made myself absent from work.
I was inspecting my maize in the morning. I heard loud voices behind the hill closer to my garden. A couple of minutes, a man passed by my garden’s boundary while rushing and running for his life for many people were after him after disclosed that he was early in that morning found raping his boss’s daughter. It was very sad because the girl is very young and knows nothing about sex. It was really great violence that shall remain the mentally disturbance in her life. People failed to catch him because he hid in cane field that was about a kilometer away from residential area of Chinangwa village.
At around 9am, the kidnaper came around the home and was arrested. He was referred to Chikwawa police station kept for hearing. The victimized young girl (10) was taken to Chikwawa hospital for testing where doctors confirmed that incident.
In the morning while sunny and patches of clouds, I left for Blantyre attending classes. Our community health lecture advised us to do revisions on most of the tackled areas. We knocked off at 2pm.
When I arrived home at 4:55pm, I proceeded to garden to do some pieces of job. My wife was already there supplying maize.
Bullets lost to MTL
The giant teams of Malawi the Bullets and MTL played a crucial match at Kamuzu Stadium on Presidential Initiative cup that the state president Bingu Wa Mutharika launched with his cabinet ministers. The trophy is worthy Mk 120 million sponsored by the president to motivate the sport activities especially football and netball and also some of the money would assist in identifying the rural talented players who can succeed Malawi Nation Team in preparation for 2010 World Cup in South Africa. Bullets lost to MTL in penalties after failing in 1-1 draw. Before football kicked off, it ESCOM Sisters and Blue Eagles started that ceremony and ECOM won by 20 goals to 16. The winner went away with Mk1 million and the loser obtained Mk750 thousand. MTL won and went away with Mk2 million and the looser Bullets compensated with Mk750 thousand.
