After breakfast, which was prepared by my wife, I left for the work at 7am. I wondered when I got to the office that all fellow workers were just discussing some other joking issues instead of doing there regular works. “Don’t you have power this morning?” I asked. They told me that it was that problem of blackout. We stayed up to lunch hour without the problem being solved. When I left for lunch, I did not turn up again for the work. Electricity is the main problem that disturbs most of the businesses especially in Lower Shire. Many people living in this area do not understand the causative of this problem because the hydro power is from Shire River that stretches along this valley’s communities. Kapichira Hydro Power is in Chikwawa district (Lower Shire).

Planned adultery failed
It was really midnight whilst many people were in their respective beds asleep. My wife wakened me up to get what was happening at my senior brother’s house. I heard women saying that arrest him! I wore my short trousers and got out of my house heading to brother’s house. I found a boy who was suspected of attempting doing adultery with my senior brother’s son wife. At the min time he was already arrested and others who woke up from their houses were beating him to reveal what and why he was at that compound at that odd hour. The boy explained that it was creative and agreed after pledged by the wife owner that he should enter the house while the wife was asleep and the wife owner would come later to catch him. After catching that’s when the wife owner would divorce the wife saying that she was not faithful. The parents to that boy were called and they apologized for that nonsense. They were advised to bring their son in the morning for discussion. The boy explained in the morning and found out that it was a planned move. Wife owner was demanded to apologize his friend for suffered for naughty behavior of the wife owner.

In the morning, I was cleaning house compound while my wife was drawing water from the nearest borehole. A couple of minutes, I saw ambulance from Chikwawa hospital entering the village. When I was looking at it, I realized that it heading to a certain house where the wife to a certain passed in this morning. Many people gathered to board off the funeral from the vehicle. It was very sad because the one year old baby was just crying made the remaining parent uncomfortable. It so sympathetic having known that the deceased was had working and was able to feed the entire family.

Failed to attend classes
Following the funeral just within the village, it was very unfortunate for one to go out for other businesses. According to our culture villagers everybody should attend the nearest funeral ceremony. The wife to Mr. Lameck was laid to rest at 3:20pm.

In penalties lost
After attending the funeral ceremony, I proceeded where Chinangwa FC was taking on with Midyomba FC at Mitole ground. Because I was late, I found both teams already scored 1-1 and was in the second half almost 10 minutes already gone. The match ended in penalties where Chinangwa lost for two players’ kicks were off target.
