At around 4 pm, when I was just arriving home it was very wonderful to see many people flocking to a certain house. I asked someone who was coming from witnessing the scene. Tatu and Mago were fighting over kachaso (local beer). These two men are cousins. The latter stubbed his cousin on the chest and was bleeding.
Had lunch at Peter
I failed to go home for lunch because I had no means of transport. Peter called me that his wife prepared enough food (nsima) which he wanted me to share. After taking nsima we watched some movies on Peter’s TV set. Peter connected his TV set because we preferred to watch music artists.

“I want my school uniform” my son asked his mother. I was about to wake up. I heard my wife advising him of taking bath before wearing his new uniform. He was very happy for he felt that he was going to have full time classes as his fellow pupils.

When I was at the work my friend Pearson received a call that the neighboring boy died for falling from baobab tree when he was plucking fruits. A 12 year boy who was absent from school he organized his friends to hunt for grasshoppers. On that exercise they saw a lot of baobab fruits above the big and tallest tree. He was only elder and clever than the rest. He advised his friends to remain and collect fruits which he was going to pluck. He climbed that tallest and biggest baobab tree. He managed to pluck many of the fruits. Unfortunately, one of the branches failed to keep rigid and support him as he was trying to pluck from that branch. He fell and amputated his right leg and arm as well. He died at the spot. It was really so bad and sympathetic.
Sent home for school uniform
My son was sent back home for he was not in school uniform. Her mother informed me about that development. I paid an excuse at my work to buy a school uniform to keep him attending classes.

I took my breakfast early around 5 am. I hired a cyclist to drive me to Dyeratu Depot. I boarded AXA bus at 5:55 am. I arrived school campus at 7:42 am. There was nobody in our classroom. Some fellow classmates got me studying at around 8:10. We knocked off at 12:25 pm.
Rainfall in Blantyre
When we were knocking off, it was really heavily raining. I decided to foot from school to CI Depot for Chikwawa minibuses but I boarded the minibus just soon after classes for it was heavily raining. It was really sad when I was able to view Lower Shire that it was quite clear without cloud cover but only sunny and hot. I took a photo while inside the minibus just within the Shire Highlands.

It was great to me for I was attaining 32. There was no any ceremony concerning this day because I was financially embarrassed. I only had some money for school traveling costs. “How are we cerebrating your birthday today?” “I think you feel disappointed for I do not have money for cerebration”. I told her.
Phone message cut the cost
The morning AXA bus was on the depot when I was arriving Dyeratu. It was 5:58 am. It was hardly for me to get in because it was already full of passengers up to the bus door. The bus conductor did not admit me to board. I remained when it was leaving for Blantyre. I was stranded just waiting for the minibuses. Two minibuses came from Nchalo but were too full of passengers that could not find a place. It was it was hopefully God’s plan because I received a phone message from my college mate, Lameck Kampioni who advised me that he was advised through phone by school management secretary that there were no classes for some lecturers and students went for a trip to Lake Malawi.

Early morning after taking breakfast, I left for the work. The breakfast was not enough for the pumpkin taken was very small for my family’s satisfaction. I did not go home for lunch for I was typing my personal documents especially school modules.
Later in the afternoon at 4 pm my wife called me that some cattle damaged maize crops at my garden. It was worrisome because the failure of reliable rain has already made the crops not to boost as everybody was expecting. I referred the damage issue to the village headman who asked the cattle owner to witness the damage. The cattle owner, the village headman and I agreed that that damage should be compensated.
Washed the school bag
My school bag was dirty and I washed it as one of the school preparation measures. I also added tow pairs of trousers. Some women who were just crossing along my house compound were very impressed with the task I was doing. “Where is your wife? Do you manage to wash yourself as if you’re not married?” one of them asked while others were just laughing. Many people in my community believe that cooking, washing clothes and or caring baby are female tasks. It was something that I need to sensitize my fellow men that there is no any work that a human being can fail to do depending one’s sex.

The man who was drunk was almost to die of severe beaten. The man had his friends at a certain bottle store at the district trading area. He was seen by some people that he had a lot of money following the way he was buying beer than anybody else. On his way some suspected fellow drunkards followed his steps. They start beating him and was left bleeding as if he was dead. His all money was seized. Early in the morning he crawled from the bush and it was when some people who were just crossing by saw him. The police men collected him for urgent medical care.

3rd March was declared to be holiday in Malawi to commemorate John Chilembwe who is regarded as a hero for Malawi. Many people did not work. I was at home just studying. After lunch I got my young brother at his house. He informed me of the crucial match that was to take place at Mitole ground.
Mitole lost at home
Thousands of people gathered at 2 pm to watch the neighbouring two local giant teams between Mitole and Chikwawa Medicals. When these two teams met, always thousands of surrounding communities flock to witness. In the first ten minutes Chikwawa Medicals scored two goals. The match ended four- one in favour of Medicals.
Supporter beaten
One of the Mitole supporters was insulting Medical supporters. The Medical supporters lost their tempers and started beating him and he had mouth and ear bleeding. Most people did not wonder for his misfortunate because he fond of despising other team’s supporters.

It was early morning around 4 am. I heard thunders and saw flash of lightening. It then started raining. I did not go to the work for it was still raining that I could hardly cycle my bike. That stopped at 8 am.
Visited my garden
My wife asked me to accompany her to fetch vegetables at the garden. I went with her for I wanted to evaluate the crops progress. It was worrisome for many of maize crops in my garden and fellow farmers there were poor and dry premature maize. “This rain is not potential to our crops because it has come while these crops are already dead” I told my wife. Many people were not proud of that rainfall because crops are already dried up. Lower Shire is still going to experience hunger crisis for the reliable rain failure.
