In the morning when I got to the work, I found Charles who was filing some files for handover. It was painful to me that he resigned just soon after attending the Fairtrade Workshop in Netherlands early June. Charles who was working as a Trust Administrator went to Netherlands together with Aubrey Chilenje resigned just soon after his arrival. He gave me some files belonging to Fairtrade Premium as one way of handover.

Excluded from school
The student who was studying at a certain secondary school was excluded from school for he failed to cover school fees. His parents paid all money covering school fees and other costs but he failed to pay even half of the required amount. Most of his fellow students finished the school fees but he was only failing to pay. When asked about fees by the school administration he was just saying that his parents were not around. It was sad because most of the people have learnt that he was just spending the money for various secret lovers he fell in love with.
The woman who is also one of the Kasinthula Cane farmers was almost to die of kachaso (the locally brewed beer). Kachaso is one of the dangerous beer that is brewed locally in rural or even in urban areas. Kachaso is the most powerful beer that its alcoholic percentage is not measured.
This woman used to take kachaso as her preferred beer. She spent the whole night taking this kachaso until the following sun rise. She continued taking kachaso without any food. After a couple of hours she fell down and stopped talking. That was around 8 am, when many farmers were rushing to their daily businesses. Beer brewer prepared a soft porridge that mad her starting speaking but almost no sense heard.
In the morning after taking breakfast, my wife and I left for the garden to see the winter maize crop progress. My wife managed to care the maize alone up to flowering stage. I was very happy to see good crops showing good harvest even though the plot is small. “congratulation for what you have achieved. It was true when you said that this year you are going to do with this winter maize crop” I recommended my wife Bertha.
My wife fetched vegetables that we enjoyed at lunch hour. The vegetables were mixed with fresh beans. It was good relish for the lunch.

It was cold morning. I woke up and put on my jersey. My son, MacAlfred was sweeping the home compound. I saw an oxcart with three cane guards passing 30 meters away from my house. I told my brother that the canes inside might be stolen from the cane fields belonging to Kasinthula cane farmers. My brother and rushed to witness if it was stolen canes.
“I was just hired as if we were going to take grass for roofing houses. The gents wondered me when they started loading sugarcanes. It was around 4 am. I can as well guide the police officers where they live” said the farm cart driver.

Man stole my mother’s cement
When I was visiting my friend, Alfred my cousin got me. “I have seen Konala taking one bag of 50 kilograms Portland cement. I was afraid that he could beat me I would caution him because is a man” cousin told me. I rushed to look for him but he was already off. I had hope that he would be found because we knew him. I reported the issue to Chikwawa who looked for the man. At this hour my mother was at the maize field.
It was indeed tough when I was totally tired of writing exams. In the morning we started at 9 am and finished at 12 noon. In the noon hours we started writing Community Empowerment and finished at 5 pm. It was tough indeed. I was totally tired. Mhalu was one the candidates who was tired. Mhalu told that he was behind and the time was not enough to him. He said he had some points not yet finished on his last question.
When I was going to submit my paper I encouraged him to try as quickly as he could in order to cover the last points for the last question. Mhalu said that he was too tired and it was just luck that he managed to finish answering the question. “I was not expecting that I could manage to finish, but I have manage to” said Mhalu.
Lameck, my fellow candidate escorted me on his motor bike to CI depot for Chikwawa. I boarded minibus at 5:20 pm. I was arriving Dyeratu (Chikwawa) at 6:15 pm. I hired a cyclist who ferried to Chinangwa village. My wife Betha was very happy she heard my voice when I knocked at the house door. She got out and hugged me. “Missed you for ages. I was feeling loneliness. You are most welcome” Bertha welcomed me.
In the morning when all candidates gathered at 8 am, it was the shocking day when we had only one hour to enter for exams. We started at 9 am. After writing, we had a lunch break. It was indeed the special day.
Went to bed at 11 night. I was preparing for the following day exams. I had to study and just revising here and there.
Fellow classmates and I met at the school for discussions and revision on project management. We started discussions at around 8 am. It was helpful because we were able to contribute. We discussed much about the past papers.
Our lecture got us at around 10 am and he had to assist us answering some of the questions we raised to him. “This is so good because you are contributing potential things. Most of your friends are just moving in town failing to have time and discuss as you are doing. You need to prepare as much as you can” said the lecture.
Driver and one passenger died on the road accident. It was around 2 am, when the touring car that was driven by the owner while totally drunk together with his friend hit the lorry. The two victims were traveling from Limbe to Bangwe in the city of Blantyre.
When they were about to cross the railway crossing, they hit the lorry that was traveling from Thyolo to Blantyre. It was indeed very sad because both in the touring car died.
After classes, I left for Chikwawa (home) to finalize a piece of work I left at the office. I was asked to prepare a report on Fairtrade premium first quarter income and expenditure. I wanted just emailing the report but I felt it could not be enough because there must be some issues for me to be answerable.
