Accomodated in Bangwe, Blantyre

“Wish you all the best my dear Elod. Work hard so that you pass this forthcoming exams” Bertha, my wife expressed when I was leaving home for Blantyre on specifically in preparation of exams. I boarded the bus at 8 am. In Blantyre, I proceeded to the South part of it to find resthouse.

8 year old boy (orphan) in hospital for dipped in absolute hot water

The boy was brought up by his father’s brother. His both parents passed away, and then he is an orphan. In the morning he together with friends went to fetch big frogs, locally called thesi (singular) and matesi (plural). These big frogs appear only during the rainy season. After rain they hid themselves underneath the soil waiting for another rainy season to emerge. At Biasoni, south part of Chinangwa village as well of Kasinthula Cane fields, most of the residents took these matesi as their stuff relish (food). This young boy went to fetch and he managed to kill two of them. One thesi can way almost 400g.

When he got home, he asked the home mother to prepare these frogs for the family. The mother seemed not to care what this young boy was saying. She went twice to the borehole drawing water. The young decided to prepare himself in fear that they could go bad or rotten. After preparing he fried them and took them with nsima. He enjoyed the meal alone. When the mother came from where she was, she was very unhappy. I have taken them all; I thought you were not interested with them. The boy told the mother when she asked about the frogs.

The woman set fire and let almost 5 liters of water to get boiled. Up 100 degrees Celsius she tied up the young boy as if he was a thief and dipped his two hands on the very hot water poured the rest onto the rest of the body.

It was so sad indeed, nobody could believe. She enclosed the boy indoor and then she left for somewhere to chart with her friends. Her husband was at the work. In the morning, a certain woman saw the uncomfortable boy lying on the empty sack. The woman asked her friend about what happened to the boy. She responded lamely that made her friend calling some men to witness what happened. Men arrested the woman and called the police officers. The woman is now in custody and the boy admitted at Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

Attended development forum

Nkhwachi, my fellow college mate invited me to attend the development forum. This forum was conducted specifically as a research to find out the major problems between donors and stakeholders. It was indeed a fruitful discussion to me. I was really impressed the way members were contributing.
