The man who bought the DSTV set was not welcomed by his wife. The criticized her husband for failing to buy white maize. She claimed that the TV set was nothing for her for she always struggle for food. She told the husband that the family’s priority should be food not the TV for just watching. “Can you watch movies while hungry?” she asked the husband.

As the Fairtrade premium committee advisor and clerk in the Kasinthula Fairtrade office, I prepared payment vouchers for school fees. Most of the farmers’ children are now having great opportunity for being paid through premium. As was agreed I produced fifteen cheques from fairtrade premium to cover the school fees for over 21 students in various secondary school as well as colleges.
Took boiled sweet potato as full lunch
Robert and I did not go home for lunch because we had no means of transport. The office messenger gave us the boiled sweet potatoes. We enjoyed the potato.

I received the letter from the just formed organization. I was invited to attend the which the organization conducted. I arrived the scheduled place in time that’s at 2 pm. The group welcomed me. They told me that some of the village members decided to establish a Community Based Organization aiming at helping needy specifically old aged, orphans and HIV/ Aids patients just within the community.
The chairman of this CBO announced that members agreed to appoint me as the board chairman for the organization. I welcomed the position, but I urged them to work so extra hard to source funds and be fair and transparency in all dimensions in order to achieve the organization’s mission.

I arrived at the school campus at 7:35 am. I found Berelinda already arrived. She told me that the Crisis Management lecture was ready to get in, but he was expecting only two or three students. When the lecture saw me he entered and started lecturing Berelinda and I. I enjoyed the subject for the way he was lecturing was very impressive.
No supper
When we knocked off at 4:30 pm, my wife, Bertha called me that there was no relish for supper. I responded that she could just go and fetch some vegetables at the garden. She complained of the distance that it was too late for her get at the garden. I advised her to prepare porridge for the children only. Bertha and I went to bed without taking supper for I had no money for relish.

My wife grew sesame and harvested 100 kg but she had been struggled for market since she harvested. When she grew there was a certain organization that promised to buy at conducive price. The pledged price influenced my wife to work so hard. She was once tipped by her sister that there was a certain organization in Blantyre that buy sesame. She went with it but she stayed for three days failing to sell it.
She left the sesame at her sister’s home in Blantyre. “This year I am not growing this crop. I thought it could help me in various ways I have just worked for nothing” complained my wife Bertha.

Vendors in Blantyre city have been forced to use the flee market built by government. Most of them were not willing for the flee market can not accommodate them. Government started the operation that forced them to abandon their out places by damaging their simple shelters by the use of heavy machine (caterpillar).
“I can see the life is now so tough because I can’t survive leaving in town because my simple shelter was damaged. I have judged myself that it’s better to come back home and do some other businesses” complained my friend’s brother (vendor).

The Fairtrade Premium committee conducted the meeting on which they selected quotations for material supply. Three suppliers were selected. The selection was fair and transparency. After selection, we called the qualified suppliers to endorse contract agreements.

A cane farmer son was caught stealing Kasinthula cane and referred to Chikwawa police. “It was wonderful to find this boy alone stealing at 10pm. When we got to office, we enclosed him waiting our bosses’s judgment” said one of the Kasinthula cane guards. The boy was 4 months imprisoned. “your fellow cane thieves have to learn from you because you are damaging Kasinthula cane farmers property each and every time” said the magistrate when ruling the tough punishment.

“Sir, since you promoted me at this position, I am still not provided the new salary. You just told me that you were discussing with HR office to decide about my new rate. Its now a year without considering me” I asked my boss just soon he entered the office from visiting cane fields. I frankly continued telling my boss that he not motivating me because I work in order to reduce my daily life problems and make my family survive.

It was shameful when married man with 4 children found in the morning by three women who went to draw water at the borehole. One of the women rushed to let the drunkard wife at home to bring a trousers so that the man could move back to his house.
Ordered to step down
The woman village leader was asked to step by her relatives after found hidden and enclosed with someone’s husband. “I was not believing when I was tipped since 2007 that my husband had been so unfaithful with our village leader. Today God had blessed to reveal this new development” said the wife. Many people of the village flocked to witness what happened. It very shameful.
