A certain family was footing with their goods headed. There were two parents and their three children. The elder child was almost 8 years old. On the way my brother and his fellow business men were on the way to look for cattle to buy. Along Chikwawa-Chapananga road they met the family resting under a certain tree. One of the business men asked why the family was footing that long distance with goods on their heads and a woman with a baby at her back. The family remained quit. “It’s poverty” the very young boy responded. Nobody continued with any other questions. They were all satisfied with what that young boy responded. They really understood that it was poverty that made them footing a long distance, over 30 km.
