Holiday to commemorate

Every 3rd March the Malawians do commemorate those people who lost their lives for the betterment of the future generation. This public holiday is held by conducting prayers in many parts of the nation.

During the one party system before the democratic system in 1994, this day Malawians were not allowed to move from their homes. Once caught out from one’s home was arrested and was released on the next 3rd March of the following year. With democratic system Malawians are now free to move and do any business one likes to tackle.

Safety, Health and Environment training

The Kasinthula management conducted the workers training on Safety Health and Environment. The trainer was from Illovo. All workers were advised to attend the SHE trainings on intervals.

I was appointed to be one of the SHE committee members representing our fellow workers. The training were conducted in various areas. Some were involved in fire fighting trainings while others did first aid training. These trainings made more workers understand the area of risks.

Quotes for Fairtrade stationary

The Fairtrade Premium committee resolved that the stationery for fairtrade office should be bought. We arrived Blantyre at 9:20am. We sourced four quotations from different dealers. We were getting home at 3pm.

We presented the sourced quotations to the Fairtrade Premium committee and the supplier was selected. The phase 2 chairman commented the procedure of sourcing quotations before purchasing using the premium money.
